A data visualization that explores which San Francisco neighborhoods are perceived as safest and investigates the cause of these perceptions. Each neighborhood is represented by a colored square, its color value in correlation with the percentage of San Francisco residents who rated the neighborhood safe. The neighborhood squares are organized in a gradient from red to blue (unsafe to safe) based on these percentages. A vector illustration is used to depict the neighborhood and additional crime, poverty, diversity and retail statistics are provided for each neighborhood as well.
